Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gimme Money (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Money comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Money for Nothing kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jeff Li has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gimme Money!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li with a jab.
Li throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Money sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Money is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Money is looking to clinch but Li is avoiding it.
Money walks into a left hand.
Li misses with a combination

and Money counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Money trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Li wants to get back to his feet but Money is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Money thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Money won't allow Li to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Money works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Money looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Money is pressing down on Li's thigh, looking to free his foot. Li is holding on for now.
Li wants to control but Money is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Money is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Money is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Li is just riding it out for now. Money eventually gives up the hold.
Money is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Li makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Li.
Money stops Li from standing up.

Money thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Money pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Li is keeping the position for now.
Money stopping the sweep attempt from Li.
Li managing to control the position.
Money working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Li controlling Money's posture.
Li lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Money has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Li can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Li wants to stand but Money is controlling his posture from full guard.

Li stands and steps away. Money gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Li throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Li connects with a looping right hand.
Li throws a push kick but Money slaps the foot to one side.
Money bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Money takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Li misses with a left hand
enabling Money to counter with a crisp jab.
Jeff Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Li looks to land a left hand but Money moved out of range nicely.
Li swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Li. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Li.
Li throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Li misses with a series of wild punches.
Li wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Li throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Li lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Money circles away quickly and effectively.
Money is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Money on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Li looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A telegraphed right hand from Li misses the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Li tries to bum rush Money with a series of wild strikes but Money uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Money steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Li.
Li misses with a looping right.
Li throws a lazy right hand but Money sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Money ducks under a wild hook from Li.
Money wants to counter with a clinch but Li pushes him away.

Li stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Money clinches up with Li and pushes him back against the cage.
Money tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Li just stands there and leans against the cage.

Li escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Money uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Li.

Li missing with a left hand there. Money was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Money clinches with his opponent.
Money tries a knee to the head but Li blocks it.
Li is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Li working hard to break the clinch.
Money scores with a shot to the side of Li's head.
Li wants to break free but Money has control.
Li tries to circle away but Money has him pinned against the cage.
Li wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Li's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Li misses with a body shot.
A punch combination from Li misses.
Li throws a lazy uppercut
and Money counters with a thumping low kick.
Money moves out of range of the body kick.
Money doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Li is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Money can do to turn this around?

Li looks to land a right hand but Money moved out of range.
Li looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Li throws a big shot that misses.
Li throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Li falls off balance throwing a combination

and Money counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Li wants to control but Money is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Money seems to be working for a kimura but Li defends the submission attempt.
Li is looking to improve his position.
Li avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Money.
Li pushes Money off looking to stand but Money dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Money is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Li sees it coming and defends easily.

Li manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Money instigates a clinch.
Money jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Li walks away with a smile on his face. Money gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Money takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Money pushes Li up against the cage in a clinch.
Money misses with a knee strike.
Money drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jeff Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gimme Money.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Money keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Li's efforts to push away.
Money goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Li pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Li ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Money moves away.

Li fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Money manages to avoid it.
Money drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Li defends it well.
Li throws a push kick but Money slaps the foot to one side.
Money unleashes a big counter combination but Li bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Li takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Li misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

letting Money counter with a right hand.
Li paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Money avoids a kick to the body.
Money wants to counter the offense by Li and move into the clinch position.
Li scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Money slips a straight right by Li.
Money is still on wobbly legs! Can Li finish him?

A less than humble Jeff Li misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Gimme Money stepped up to the mic, saying 'That's gonna cost me a pretty penny.'.
