PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kunle Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Warrior's Theme. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Davis to the ground. Jones is now in Davis's guard.
Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Davis lands a good elbow from the bottom.
Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Davis looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Davis wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

No joy there for Davis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.

Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Davis on his heels. He'll look to pass Davis's guard now, I'm sure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones throws a strike but Davis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Davis passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Davis swings around for an armbar but Jones sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Davis's guard.

Davis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
Kunle Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Davis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kunle Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Davis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
