Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masaru Shimabukuro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Moxson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimabukuro's entrance music is Warrior. A fine choice. Moxson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Zombie by Cranberries. Masaru Shimabukuro could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Moxson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaru Shimabukuro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Moxson!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moxson fails to land the takedown.
Shimabukuro went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Moxson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shimabukuro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

My spies in Tōshi inform me that Moxson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That was a close round but I would say that Masaru Shimabukuro will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
