Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chester Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allan Wright!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate dives in for a single leg takedown but Wright sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Wright has hold of one of Tate's legs. Tate is fighting the takedown attempt but Wright gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wright throwing strikes from guard but Tate blocks nicely.
Tate is looking to stand up but Wright isn't so interested in that idea.
Tate keeping full guard, as Wright tries to pass.
Tate keeping moving, preventing Wright from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright is standing up over Tate. Tate looks to escape but Wright dives into side control.
Wright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tate keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wright throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright throwing strikes but Tate manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Tate trying to control the position but Wright is working away.
Wright can't do much from the bottom here.
Wright has one of Tate's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wright is looking to regain half guard here but Tate keeps moving and retains side control.
Wright can't do much from the bottom here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wright can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wright tries to improve position but can't.
Wright tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Tate easily slips into full mount!
Tate wants to control the pace but Wright is squirming around nicely.

Tate is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wright can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wright is squirming around, avoiding Tate's attempts to control the action.

Tate is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wright is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Wright tries to hold on but Tate pushes him away.

Tate looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Wright tries to control Tate's body but Tate pushes him off. Wright squirms to his side and now Tate has his back!
Wright tries to escape but Tate has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tate is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Tate tries to keep control of the position but Wright is staying busy.
Tate is not going to allow Wright to sit and survive in this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wright can't escape the position.
Wright looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chester Tate dominated that round.

Wright moves out of range as Tate strikes.

Wright looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Tate!
Tate really is a fat lump.
Wright in side control lands a decent elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Wright trying to control the action but Tate is working from the bottom.
Tate is trying to buck Wright off.

Tate gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Tate tries to roll over but Wright keeps him under control.
Well, if Wright is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tate is staying active underneath Wright, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Tate avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wright.
Wright sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tate defending well though.
Allan Wright has got the better of the ground game so far.
Still in half guard, Wright seems content to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wright is looking to chop away at Tate's legs.
Wright just misses with a punch to the body.
Wright connects with a jab.

Wright shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tate napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Wright throws a strike aimed at the side of Tate's head but Tate avoids it well.
Tate is looking for a sweep.
Wright trying to control the position but Tate is working away.
Wright has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wright wants to take a breather but Tate manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Wright.
Wright looking to pass the guard.
Wright is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wright wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving.
Wright stands up over Tate, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wright throws an elbow that misses. Tate uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wright's guard. Nice move by Tate!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Allan Wright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Wright digs a good body shot into Tate's ribs.
Wright tries to score with a low kick but Tate moves his leg out of the way.

Wright fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tate sprawls well initially but Wright persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tate wants to control but Wright is keeping busy.
Wright controlling the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Tate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wright stops Tate from getting back to his feet.
Wright is keen to just control but Tate is a slippery customer.
Wright is taking a breather. Tate says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Wright is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tate sees it coming and defends easily.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wright moves into range and clinches up with Tate.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Tate pulls guard effortlessly.
Wright tries to free his leg and advance position but Tate is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wright passes Tate's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tate tries to kick Wright off but Wright keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Wright wants to control but Tate is keeping him busy.
Tate is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wright scores with a couple of nice shots.
Tate wants to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wright moves into the clinch.
Tate drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wright gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Wright breaks the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tate enables Wright to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tate manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wright trying to control the position from guard on top but Tate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tate is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wright postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tate will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Wright is in close to Tate's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tate is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Wright lands a right hook to the body.

Wright shoots in and bounces Tate off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Allan Wright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
