Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Olek Skilgannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skilgannon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is La Ultima Hora - Breed 77. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skilgannon darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Skilgannon moves out of range as Newton throws a body kick.
Newton misses with a straight left.
Newton connects with a nice looking jab.

Newton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Skilgannon counters with a takedown into side control.
Newton controls the position for a moment.
Newton is not content to let Skilgannon control the position.
You can see the frustration on Newton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Newton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Skilgannon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Newton felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Skilgannon is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Newton has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Skilgannon is working for a guillotine from mount but Newton frees his head quite easily.

Skilgannon is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Newton to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Newton shrugs it off.

Newton lands a big head kick that sends Skilgannon tumbling to the mat! Newton takes a step backwards and waves Skilgannon back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Newton finds Skilgannon's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Skilgannon flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Newton lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Skilgannon will be OK.
