The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kurki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kurki looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

It looks like Luca Vicini has been cut.
Kurki wants to free his trapped foot but Vicini is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Vicini wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vicini escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kurki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vicini regains half guard.
Vicini tries to roll over but Kurki keeps him under control.
Vicini is trying to control but can't.
Kurki thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kurki uses his free foot to push down on Vicini's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vicini.
