Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bang Ding Ow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Leandro Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bang Ding Ow!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Jones finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ow misses with a body punch
and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ow blocks a head kick by Jones.
Ow unleashes a big counter combination but Jones bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ow tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
Ow throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Jones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Ow misses with a head kick.
Ow throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ow connects with a leg kick. Jones looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ow blocks the body kick.
Ow throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ow has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ow tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've been told by Jones's head coaches at Total Impact that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ow misses with a head kick.
Ow takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jones lands a head kick. Ow smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


Ow is rocked!

Ow moves into range and connects with a jab.

Ow motions for Jones to come forward. Ow throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Ow does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Jones rushes Ow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jones pulls guard effortlessly.
Ow is stalling in the full guard.
Ow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ow sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Ow prevents Jones from improving his position.
Ow is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.
Ow tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ow is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ow.
Ow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Ow is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Ow eventually gives up the hold.

Ow is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ow to get the leverage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ow is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones tries to roll over but Ow keeps him under control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A solid body kick from Ow.
Jones takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ow swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jones has Ow up against the cage in a clinch.
Ow goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones throws a body punch but Ow moves out of range.
Jones wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ow misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Jones blocks a head kick by Ow.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ow can do to turn this around?

Jones moves into the clinch.
Jones keeps control of Ow as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ow on the side of the head.

Ow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ow throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
It looked like Jones was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ow.
Ow misses with a looping left.
Jones throws a big counter combination but Ow scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ow misses with a looping right.
Leandro Jones is winning the standup battle so far.
Jones throws a good cross that connects.
Ow misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely.
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Jones lands a front kick.
Ow shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.

Jones darts in and clinches Ow up against the cage.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Ow on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ow throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

Jones rushes Ow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jones digs a right hand underneath Ow's ribcage. Ow let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jones comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Ow changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ow throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily.

Bang Ding Ow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Jones lands a big head kick that sends Ow tumbling to the mat! Jones takes a step backwards and waves Ow back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Ow seems to have recovered his senses.
Ow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Ow doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Jones lands a big head kick that sends Ow tumbling to the mat! Jones takes a step backwards and waves Ow back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The crowd cheers as Jones lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ow doesn't seem phased though.

Ow is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Ow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Ow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ow thuds his shin into the meat of Jones's side.
Jones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ow at a distance.

Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ow.
Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ow swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ow.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ow crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jones - the referee stops the clock and Ow gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jones. Ow manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Ow swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ow momentarily.

Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ow.
Jones sizes up Ow with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Ow tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ow fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
Jones is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ow misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones forces Ow back against the cage and clinches.
Ow has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jones avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
