PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Friedlander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dias comes to the cage accompanied by Skrillex - Ragga Bomb. Friedlander has chosen Bring Me to Life as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Friedlander !
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Friedlander throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dias tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Friedlander is in Dias's guard.
Friedlander won't allow Dias to get back to his feet.
Dias trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Dias keeping full guard, as Friedlander tries to pass.
Friedlander controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Friedlander stops Dias from standing up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Friedlander accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Friedlander passes Dias's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dias tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Friedlander manages to move to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Friedlander lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Friedlander wants to finish this one by submission but Dias is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Friedlander .
You get the feeling that Dias really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Friedlander swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dias is now in Friedlander 's guard. A big mistake from Friedlander there, giving up the dominant position!
Friedlander bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dias's guard.

Friedlander throws a strike but Dias rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dias wants to get up but he can't break Friedlander 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dias stands up and waves to Friedlander to follow him.
Dias moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Ricardo Dias seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dias bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Friedlander 's head backwards.
Dias seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Dias jabs Friedlander right on the nose. Friedlander blinks but takes it well.
Friedlander bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Friedlander keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dias.

Dias looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Friedlander !
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Friedlander tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Friedlander tries to bench press Dias off him but Dias keeps the position.
Dias knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Friedlander on the ground.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Friedlander gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dias seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Dias prevents Friedlander from improving his position.
Friedlander keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Friedlander has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Friedlander has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dias is working away from the top position though.
Friedlander slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Dias wanted to stand there but Friedlander had control of the position.
Friedlander has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Friedlander is looking for a triangle but Dias pushes his legs off easily.

Dias wants to stand and escape but instead Friedlander has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dias wants to stand but Friedlander is controlling the position.
Friedlander not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A close round but Louis Friedlander will probably get the nod.

Friedlander is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dias knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Friedlander thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Friedlander has hold of Dias's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Dias seems comfortable defending it but Friedlander has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Dias is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dias is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Friedlander couldn't care less - he's delighted!
