Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Mullins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Eva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyman Mullins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Eva!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mullins avoids it really well and circles away.
Eva tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Eva lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Lyman Mullins has been cut.
Eva shoots in for a takedown but Mullins shows good takedown defense.
Eva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mullins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lyman Mullins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Eva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eva shoots in and bounces Mullins off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mullins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Eva tries to advance to mount but Mullins denies him.

Mullins is looking to regain half guard here but Eva keeps moving and retains side control.

Mullins wants to control but Eva is keeping busy.
Well, if Eva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Eva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mullins as he avoids it easily.
Eva shoots in and drives through. Mullins sprawls well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Eva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mullins defends it nicely.

Eva closes the distance and clinches.
Mullins tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Mullins lands a body punch.
Eva misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mullins.
Mullins goes for a takedown attempt but Eva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Eva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Lyman Mullins's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Eva wants to clinch.
Mullins wants to clinch up but Eva keeps it at a distance.
Eva falls off balance throwing a combination

and Mullins counters by clinching up.
Eva has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mullins is trying to force a seperation but Eva has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Eva has Mullins pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Eva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mullins tumbling to the mat - Eva dives into Mullins's guard.
Mullins is trying to keep Eva in close.

Eva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mullins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mullins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Eva manages to get himself to full guard.


Eva has his foot on Mullins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mullins works his way back into a safe position though.
Mullins trying to control but Eva is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eva can do anything to dispel that myth.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Eva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eva looking for subs off his back but Mullins has passed one foot through into half guard.
Eva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Eva controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Mullins decides to stand and escape the position.

Mullins is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Eva shoots in for a takedown but Mullins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mullins doesn't manage to clinch there - Eva circles away.
Eva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Eva fails with a takedown attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Eva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mullins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mullins is looking for a sweep.
Mullins regains half guard.
Eva prevents Mullins from improving his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Sam Eva will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Eva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mullins sprawls well. Mullins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eva gets slowly back to his feet.

Mullins gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Eva wanted to stand there but Mullins had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mullins tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mullins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Eva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Eva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mullins defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Eva.

Mullins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Eva to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Eva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Eva is in close to Mullins's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Mullins is trying to keep Eva in close.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mullins is trying to get back to full guard.
Mullins blocking the ground and pound attempt from Eva.

Eva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sam Eva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Eva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
