The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses the shot to the body.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Obama manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Obama moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Obama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Obama creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

It looks like Ben Smith has been cut.
