The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael misses with a wild body shot.

and Crawford counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Michael moves in looking to clinch but Crawford pushes him off.

and Crawford counters with a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Michael closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Crawford quickly recovers to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crawford slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Michael would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Michael has gone for a leg lock! Crawford slips out almost immediately though and dives into Michael's guard.

Crawford is looking for a sweep. Michael is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Michael is working for a kimura but Crawford is defending it quite comfortably.

Michael wants to work for an arm triangle but Crawford is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Michael seems to be looking for submissions.
Crawford blocking the ground and pound attempt from Michael.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Michael is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Crawford is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
