Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barao DeSilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solid Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Solid Snake acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barao DeSilva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Solid Snake!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeSilva closes the distance and clinches.
Snake blocking some punches.
DeSilva throws a head punch that misses.
DeSilva tries to work over Snake's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Snake as DeSilva tries to tie him up.
Snake lands a right hand that snaps the head of DeSilva backwards.
Snake blocks an uppercut.
Stalling in the clinch from Snake.
Still in the clinch, Snake scores with a nice short uppercut.
DeSilva effectively controlling the action here.

DeSilva breaks the clinch.

DeSilva clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Snake blocking some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for DeSilva.
Snake lands a hook that snaps the head of DeSilva backwards.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
DeSilva swings wildly with an uppercut but Snake uses good head movement to avoid it.
Snake lands a nice uppercut.
Snake displaying some good clinch control by pressing DeSilva up against the cage.
Snake pushes DeSilva back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Snake lands with a short punch from the clinch.
DeSilva digs a right hand underneath Snake's ribcage. Snake let out a lung full of air as it connected.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Snake.

Snake lands with a left to the head.

Snake has DeSilva pushed against the cage.
DeSilva lands an elbow inside.
DeSilva tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Snake has DeSilva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Snake pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending DeSilva tumbling to the mat - Snake dives into DeSilva's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
DeSilva keeping full guard, as Snake tries to pass.
Snake distracts DeSilva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
DeSilva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snake looking to sit in guard and control but DeSilva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

DeSilva cracks Snake with a solid left hand.
Snake looking to hit a scissor sweep but DeSilva is one step ahead there.

Snake looking for submissions from the bottom but instead DeSilva passes into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Snake gets back to half guard.

Snake wants to get back to full guard.
Snake makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Snake.
DeSilva looking to pass the guard.
DeSilva stands and throws Snake's legs to the side, diving into side control.
DeSilva is trying to ground and pound but Snake uses the momentary lack of control by DeSilva to regain half guard.
Snake tries to get to full guard but DeSilva has control of the leg.
Snake makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Snake.

A close round but Solid Snake will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Snake ducks under a wild hook from DeSilva.
DeSilva attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
DeSilva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Snake.

DeSilva instigates a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Snake stalling in the clinch but DeSilva improves position.

Snake lands a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeSilva wants to sweep but no luck.
Snake wants to control from the top but DeSilva keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Snake postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
DeSilva is pulling down on Snake's head. It's preventing any offense from Snake, at least for the moment.
DeSilva keeping full guard, as Snake tries to pass.
Snake missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Snake working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
DeSilva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Snake lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Snake decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
DeSilva is looking for a sweep. Snake is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Snake is trying to control the action in half guard but DeSilva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
DeSilva on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Snake tries to pass to full mount but DeSilva defends it.
Solid Snake has got the better of the ground game so far.
DeSilva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Snake's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
DeSilva keeping moving, preventing Snake from controlling successfully.
DeSilva wants to sweep here but Snake controlling him for the moment.

Snake is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
DeSilva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Solid Snake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

DeSilva moves into range and clinches up with Snake.
A bit of stalling here from Snake.

Snake wants the takedown. DeSilva is fighting it off but Snake persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in DeSilva's guard against the cage.

DeSilva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Snake pulls his head out easily.

Solid Snake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Snake is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Snake gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Snake dives in for a single leg takedown but DeSilva sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
DeSilva ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Snake has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
DeSilva thumps Snake with a low kick.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Snake is defended easily by DeSilva.

and DeSilva counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Snake is trying hard to land a takedown here. DeSilva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Barao DeSilva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Solid Snake.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Snake changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. DeSilva tries to avoid it but Snake manages to keep hold of a leg and drag DeSilva to the ground. DeSilva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Snake lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Solid Snake seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Snake wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but DeSilva has him pressed against the cage.

Snake has clasped his hands together around DeSilva's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
DeSilva is looking to reverse the position.
DeSilva is trying to control Snake's posture but Snake avoids it.
Snake postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

DeSilva gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Snake has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Snake swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and DeSilva is now in Snake's guard. A big mistake from Snake there, giving up the dominant position!

DeSilva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Snake's guard.
Snake is not content to let DeSilva control the position.
Snake tries to roll over but DeSilva keeps him under control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Snake looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Barao DeSilva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Snake has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

I would just about give that final round to Solid Snake.
I've got Snake winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
