Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hipolito Everett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jackson misses with a double jab
and Everett counters with a low kick, right behind Jackson 's knee.
Jackson tries to work over Everett's front leg with a kick but Everett checks it.

Jackson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Everett lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Everett turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Everett manages to end up in side control.
Everett tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Everett decides to stand back up.
Jackson misses with a takedown
and Everett counters with a body kick.
Everett tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Everett pinned against the cage. Everett gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson lands a head kick. Everett smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Hipolito Everett has been cut.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Everett as he jumps to the side.
Hipolito Everett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Jackson.
Jackson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Everett has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Everett shoots in and gets a takedown into Jackson's guard.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Everett is one step ahead there.
Everett cracks Jackson with a solid left hand.

Everett won't allow Jackson to sweep him here.
Jackson has a closed guard, preventing Everett from standing up.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

Jackson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Everett presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Everett throws a punch but it's blocked by Jackson.

Jackson jumps guard and drags Everett to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Everett wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jackson scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Jackson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Everett to keep the fight standing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hipolito Everett will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Everett pulls his leg out and moves away.
Everett tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.
Everett displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jackson.

and Everett makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Everett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Everett off to one side.

and Everett counters with a series of strikes. Jackson will be more careful next time no doubt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Everett manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Everett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Everett gets control of Jackson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Everett will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Everett tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hipolito Everett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Everett's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Everett manages to get underhooks.
Everett lands a knee to the body.
Everett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jackson smiles and moves away.
A head kick from Jackson lands but Everett takes it in his stride.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Everett looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jack Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hipolito Everett is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hipolito Everett.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Everett, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
