Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sin Cara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quinton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cara's guard.
Jackson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cara looking to control.
Cara keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jackson is looking to pass into half guard but Cara pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cara is in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cara trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cara is fighting to break Jackson's control of his arms but Jackson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cara preventing the sweep.
Cara will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jackson controls Cara momentarily but Cara frees himself.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jackson is pulling down on Cara's head. It's preventing any offense from Cara, at least for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cara throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Cara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cara looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jackson controlling the position.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cara keeps working.
Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cara to see if he's OK.

Cara sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Jackson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Cara tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control.
Cara is breathing heavily.
Cara is not content to let Jackson control the position.

Jackson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Cara to get to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson takes one to the side of the head.

Cara gets caught flat footed, as Jackson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jackson trying to control but Cara is working from the bottom.
Cara can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace.
Cara wants to control but Jackson passes easily into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jackson uses his free foot to push down on Cara's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cara.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Cara tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.

Jackson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Cara prevents Jackson from moving into mount.
Jackson tries to stand but Cara is controlling his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Cara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jackson is staying tight to Cara's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cara, who protects the arm well.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cara has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jackson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.


Cara is rocked!
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Cara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Oh Cara is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson lands a few punches from side control.
Jackson trying to control the position but Cara is working away.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jackson tries for a kimura but Cara is defending well.
Jackson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Jackson trying to control the action but Cara is working from the bottom.

Cara seems to have got his legs back now.
Cara tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jackson is trying to get an arm triangle but Cara is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cara trying to remain calm as Jackson controls from the top position.

Jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cara was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cara is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Jackson lands with a big right hook that stumbles Cara - he's out on his feet here! Jackson follows up with another monster hook that separates Cara from consciousness! Cara falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Jackson stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Quinton Jackson!
