The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schulman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dean's guard.
Dean manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Schulman manages to get himself to full guard.

Schulman looking for a sweep. Not yet Schulman, not yet.
Schulman wants to stand but Dean is controlling the position.
Schulman has Dean pulled in close to control his posture.
Schulman is wriggling around but Dean manages to pass to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schulman is trying to stand up here but Dean is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Schulman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Schulman gets back to full guard.
Dean is fighting to break Schulman's control of his arms but Schulman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Dean wants to stand but Schulman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dean throws a combination. Schulman tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Schulman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dean to the ground. Schulman is now in Dean's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Schulman misses with a right hand

and Dean counters with a shoot takedown. Schulman fights it but they end up in guard.
Schulman looking to control.
Dean throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dean wants to stand but Schulman is controlling his posture from full guard.

Schulman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dean tries to keep at a distance but Schulman has taken the fight into the clinch.

Schulman pushes Dean back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Schulman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Dean is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schulman pulls his head out easily.
Schulman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Schulman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Schulman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Schulman wants to control but Dean is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
No luck for Dean with that takedown attempt.

Schulman closes the distance and clinches.
Dean can't get the takedown.

Dean pulls guard effortlessly.
Schulman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Schulman wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving.
Schulman is stalling in the full guard.

Dean pulls Schulman in close to his closed guard and prevents Schulman from doing any damage or advancing position.

Mikey Schulman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Schulman feints and as Dean raises his hands in defense, Schulman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Schulman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
