Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Staph Aureus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clay Thomas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clay Thomas!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Staph Aureus has been cut.
Aureus avoids the head kick by Thomas.
Thomas throws a good cross that connects.
Thomas throws a body punch but Aureus moves out of range.
Thomas throws a right hand that Aureus ducks under and follows up with a left that Aureus also avoids with ease.
Thomas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Aureus shoots in but Thomas avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Aureus shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Aureus showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomas is trying to control but can't.
Aureus missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Thomas is looking to escape.
Thomas wants to control but Aureus is keeping busy.
Aureus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aureus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Aureus slips a jab and a cross from Thomas.

Aureus has Thomas up against the cage in a clinch.
Nice body punch from Thomas.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aureus tries to clinch but Thomas is having none of it.
A head kick from Thomas lands but Aureus takes it in his stride.
Aureus walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Staph Aureus's cut is getting worse.
Aureus tries to clinch up.
Thomas throws a nice looking combination but Aureus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
An inside leg kick lands from Thomas.
A shot to the liver by Thomas. Beautiful body shot.
Aureus shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Aureus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aureus looks to clinch
and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Staph Aureus's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Thomas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thomas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Aureus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Thomas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thomas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thomas lands a lovely overhand right.
Thomas throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Aureus crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Clay Thomas!
A relieved looking Clay Thomas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Staph Aureus was interviewed post fight and said 'You win some you lose some . I'll be back, dont worry about it !'.
