Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshido Nakamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Puna Wai!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamara moves away from the strike by Wai.
Nakamara looks to land a combination but Wai avoids it well.
Wai misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nakamara drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wai sprawls and moves away.
Wai thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Nakamara if he has to take too many more of those.
Nakamara misses with a head kick.
Wai throws a body punch but Nakamara moves out of range.

and Nakamara decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wai's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Nakamara tries to stand but Wai is controlling from the bottom.
Nakamara pushes down on Wai's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nakamara not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wai is trying to stand up here but Nakamara is controlling him well.

Wai pushes Nakamara off, looking to escape but Nakamara dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Wai is forced to tap! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Yoshido Nakamara!
A relieved looking Yoshido Nakamara thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
