Battista uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gene.

It looks like Donatello Battista has been cut.
Gene goes for a double leg but Battista avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Battista continues to drive forward.

Gene ducks under a wild hook from Battista.
Gene throws an overhand right that lands on Battista's shoulder, as Battista tries to avoid the shot.
Gene is looking to slow Battista down with leg kicks.
Gene throws the left hand but Battista avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Battista gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Gene gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Battista is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
