The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weeks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Weeks is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drake wants to control but Weeks is keeping him busy.
Weeks manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Drake got a little sloppy there for a moment and Weeks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Drake has managed to get both his arms back between Weeks's legs - danger averted.

Drake shoots in and bounces Weeks off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Weeks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Drake slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Weeks is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Weeks wants to improve his position but Drake is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Drake connects with a nice short shot to Weeks's temple.

Drake closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Weeks tries to buck Drake off but Drake is having none of it.

Drake is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Weeks has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Weeks keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Drake has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Drake throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Drake lands a couple of good shots and Weeks has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
You can see the frustration on Weeks's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Weeks is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
