Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Mitchell acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell tries to close the distance and clinch but Black swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mitchell connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mitchell misses with a few strikes there.
Black scores with a sloppy right hand. Mitchell should have avoided that one.
Black lands with a right hand.
Black throws a shot from downtown. Mitchell moves away and avoids it.
Jack Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mitchell is looking to land body kicks.
Black throws a leg kick which misses Mitchell's front leg but catches the back leg as Mitchell tries to avoid it.
Mitchell lands with a kick to the ribs.
Mitchell tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Black throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Mitchell counters with a series of strikes that sends Black to the canvas! Mitchell follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Black is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mitchell tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Mitchell misses with the ground and pound.
Black seems to have got his legs back now.
Black is trying to control Mitchell's posture but Mitchell avoids it.

Mitchell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Black is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Black's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Black tries to improve position but can't.
Black is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mitchell off and has taken his back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Black's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Mitchell rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Black tries to stand and escape but Mitchell is controlling the position.

Mitchell tries to roll over but Black keeps him under control.

Black is working for a kimura but Mitchell is defending it quite comfortably.
Mitchell gets back to full guard.

Black drops back looking for a leg! Mitchell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitchell manages to kick Black off! Black jumps back into Mitchell's guard.
Mitchell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mitchell lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Black hang on?
Black is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mitchell looking to finish with strikes here!

Mitchell cracks Black with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Mitchell dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mitchell manages to avoid it.
Mitchell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Black misses with a hook.
Mitchell dodges the punch combination from Black.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Black, as that shot connected.
Mitchell slips under a jab.

Black shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mitchell's guard.

Black passes Mitchell's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mitchell tries to roll over but Black keeps him under control.
Mitchell wants to control but Black is keeping busy.
Mitchell is refusing to be controlled, as Black sits in half guard.
Black slips a nice elbow through Mitchell's hands, connecting with Mitchell's forehead.

Black postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mitchell to stand up.
Mitchell closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Black misses with a jab to the body
and Mitchell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Black has his takedown stuffed
and Mitchell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

enabling Black to counter with a crisp jab.
Black is looking to clinch.
Black throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mitchell misses with a leg kick.
Black ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mitchell moves away.

Nice uppercut lands for Black. That snapped Mitchell's head back.

It looks like James Mitchell has been cut.
Mitchell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Black dips to his left and cracks Mitchell with an uppercut!
Mitchell lands with a nice combination. Black backs away looking to recover.

Mitchell throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease.
Mitchell is breathing heavily.

Black drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mitchell is on top in guard.
Mitchell is pushing down on Black's leg trying to pass to half guard. Black is fighting to maintain full guard but Mitchell has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's time! Black's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Mitchell tries to clinch but Black moves out of range.
Mitchell dodges the punch combination from Black.
Mitchell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Black as he avoids it easily.
Mitchell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mitchell off to one side.
Mitchell will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mitchell throws a front kick aimed at Black's knee but Black avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mitchell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Black.
Black lands with a hook. Mitchell tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mitchell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mitchell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Black on the side of the head.
Black lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Black counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Black will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mitchell seems to have recovered his senses.

Jack Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Black thuds a left hand into Mitchell's body.
Mitchell takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Black takes a swing at Mitchell's ribcage but misses.

Mitchell fails with the takedown.
Jack Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Mitchell.
Black rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mitchell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mitchell on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Black. Black obviously looking to wear him down.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Black goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mitchell prevents it.
Black is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mitchell pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mitchell throws a big shot that misses.
Black jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Black throws a leg kick but Mitchell sees it coming and moves out of range.
Black connects with a nice looking jab.
Mitchell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Black.
Mitchell is not content to let Black control the position.
Mitchell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Black wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mitchell tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Jack Black showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Black has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
