The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper slips a jab and a cross from Brawler.
Brawler staying out of range there.
Piper throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Despite the aggression on Brawler's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Brawler throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brawler takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Piper misses with a hook.
Piper staying out of range there.
Brawler throws a combination. Piper tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Brawler lands with a nice body punch.
Brawler has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Piper misses with a wild combination.
Piper lands a nice shot to the body.
Brawler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Piper doesn't seem bothered though.

Brawler rushes Piper and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Brawler lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Brawler tries to land knees in the clinch but Piper avoids the damage to the body.

Piper tries to work over Brawler's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Piper.
Brawler lands with a short shot to the head.

Brawler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Piper throws an overhand right that lands on Brawler's shoulder, as Brawler tries to avoid the shot.
Piper throws a right hand that Brawler ducks under and follows up with a left that Brawler also avoids with ease.
A nice inside leg kick there by Brawler. That's going to slow Piper down.
Brawler avoids a punch combination nicely.
Piper throws a series of strikes that have Brawler backpedaling.
Brawler misses with a hook. Piper ducked under it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Piper misses with a double jab.
A jab from Brawler finds it's way through Piper's defenses.
Brawler feints and then cracks Piper's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Piper down.

Piper scores with a jab. Brawler acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Brawler is rocked!
Piper fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Brawler square on the jaw! Damn, Brawler is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
