Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Connor Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Connor Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Clay!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Freeman moves in looking to clinch but Clay pushes him off.
Clay scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Freeman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Clay defends it nicely.
Freeman is looking to clinch but Clay is avoiding it.
A little jabbing left from Clay on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Clay has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Clay is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Freeman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Clay does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Freeman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Freeman lands in his opponent's guard.

Clay ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Freeman moves away.
Clay lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Freeman tries to close the distance and clinch but Clay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Clay swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Clay looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Clay can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Freeman controls the pace.
Freeman is looking to advance position but Clay has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Freeman wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Clay lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Clay throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Freeman is bucking up trying to escape but Clay cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Freeman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Freeman throws a strike but Clay rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Clay postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters circle momentarily. Freeman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Clay has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Clay there as he acknowledges the shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tyson Clay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Freeman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Clay swats him away and circles back towards the center.
