Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elbert Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orochi Mori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elbert Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Orochi Mori!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Darius Henderson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Robbins.
Mori tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Robbins was well out of range. Poor timing from Mori.
Robbins chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mori can pounce on him.
Mori moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Robbins gets tackled into the cage by Mori. Mori maintains the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Robbins.
Robbins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Robbins really is a fat lump.
Mori throws an elbow that misses.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Mori pulls guard successfully.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Robbins's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robbins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mori works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mori is trying to control the position but Robbins postures up.
Mori looking to hit a scissor sweep but Robbins is one step ahead there.
Robbins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Robbins throwing strikes but missing.

Robbins drops back looking for a leg! Mori is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mori manages to kick Robbins off! Robbins jumps back into Mori's guard.
Robbins with a flurry of punches that miss.

Robbins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mori manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Robbins has Mori in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mori engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mori wants to stand and escape but instead Robbins has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mori keeping moving, preventing Robbins from controlling successfully.
Robbins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Robbins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Robbins drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mori looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mori looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mori!


Mori stands up.

Mori lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Mori decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mori tries to stand and escape but Robbins is controlling the position.
Mori seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Robbins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mori prevents Robbins from improving his position.
Mori takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Robbins is trying to get back to full guard.

Robbins is working hard here to advance position.
Mori keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mori wants to free his trapped foot but Robbins is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mori dodges the punch combination from Robbins.
Mori misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Robbins wants to clinch up but Mori keeps it at a distance.
Robbins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mori sprawls well. Mori wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Robbins gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Orochi Mori dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mori fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Robbins.
Orochi Mori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mori throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Mori moves into the clinch.

Mori breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mori instigates a clinch.
Robbins tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Robbins misses with a short punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robbins is trying to force a seperation but Mori has the dominant position.

Mori breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Robbins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mori paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mori has closed the distance and engaged Robbins in a clinch.

Robbins is trying to maintain a safe position but Mori gets an underhook and turns Robbins into the cage.
Mori has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Robbins has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Robbins throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Mori connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Elbert Robbins has been cut.

Mori drags the fight down to the ground.
Mori lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mori passes into half guard.
Mori is looking to stall here but Robbins recovers full guard.
Robbins keeping moving, preventing Mori from controlling successfully.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mori throws a head kick that misses.

Mori shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Robbins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mori trying to control but Robbins postures up.
Mori is breathing heavily.

Robbins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mori regains full guard. Nicely done.

Orochi Mori showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Mori shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Robbins's guard.

Mori is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Robbins defends well.

Mori bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Robbins's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Robbins is on top in guard.

Mori takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Robbins postures up in Mori's guard and throws a big left but Mori blocks it.

Robbins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mori is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mori has escaped and now he's on top!

Mori wants to stand but Robbins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Mori wants to pass the guard but Robbins is keeping the position.

Mori must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Robbins is trying to control the position but Mori postures up.

Mori is posturing up here but Robbins has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Mori tries to roll out but it's too tight and Mori has to tap! Slick submission there by Robbins!
