The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rowland.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rowland lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dace has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dace and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Rowland throws a head kick that misses

and Dace counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dace slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dace has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Dace wants to get up but he can't break Rowland's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dace is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rowland rolls with it to try and escape but Dace cranks on the arm and Rowland is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
