Comte Jr's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Viceroy by Mac DeMarco. The crowd seem to be enjoying Pettimore's choice of entrance music: Copperhead Road. With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Lee Pettimore!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Comte Jr scores with a jab to the body.

Comte Jr closes the distance and clinches.
Comte Jr lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Pettimore's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A telegraphed right hand from Pettimore misses the target.
John Lee Pettimore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Comte Jr slips a jab from Pettimore.

Pettimore throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Comte Jr closes the distance and pushes Pettimore back into the cage.

Pettimore has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Pettimore fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Comte Jr manages to avoid it.

Comte Jr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pettimore, pushing him back against the cage.

Pettimore's coach down at Gracie Barra Hilo (Sauna + Bang for your Buck) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pettimore's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Comte Jr lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Comte Jr has Pettimore pressed against the cage, preventing Pettimore from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Pettimore is trying to force a seperation but Comte Jr has the dominant position.

Pettimore prevents a body shot from Comte Jr.
A frustrated look appears on Pettimore's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Pettimore tries to break the clinch but Comte Jr is controlling the position.
Comte Jr makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Pettimore has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The referee calls for Comte Jr to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Comte Jr keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pettimore's efforts to push away.

Comte Jr lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Comte Jr can't find room to land a body shot as Pettimore controls the action.

Pettimore is rocked!

Pettimore manages to break the clinch.
Pettimore misses with a wild body shot.
Comte Jr throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Comte Jr misses with a two punch combination.
Pettimore connects with the punch.
A shot to the liver by Comte Jr. Beautiful body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Comte Jr throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pettimore.
Pettimore is still on wobbly legs! Can Comte Jr finish him?
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Comte Jr moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Pettimore! Comte Jr continues to tee off on Pettimore, landing with a left and a right! Comte Jr connects with a right hand that leaves Pettimore sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Comte Jr!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Boxing Comte Jr!
