Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wilton Whitfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilton Whitfield has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wilton Whitfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Lee!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee dives in and grabs Whitfield's left leg, looking for a takedown. Whitfield pushes down on Lee's head and hops out.
Lee looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Whitfield keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Whitfield tries to clinch there but Lee circles away.

Whitfield pushes Lee up against the cage in a clinch.

Whitfield has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lee uses from the top position.

Whitfield is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee wants to stand but Whitfield has his arm trapped.

Lee working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Whitfield is looking for a sweep.

Lee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Whitfield to his feet.
Lee shoots in and drives through. Whitfield sprawls well.
Wilton Whitfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Lee.
Lee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Chris Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whitfield wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Whitfield regains half guard.

Lee is thwarting Whitfield's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Whitfield wants to improve his position but Lee is controlling well.
Whitfield manages to get to full guard.

Whitfield is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lee is aware though and is defending well.
Lee wants to control from the top but Whitfield keeps moving.
Whitfield will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Whitfield just misses with a punch to the body.
Whitfield tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Whitfield throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Whitfield throws a head kick that misses.
Lee gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Whitfield counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Whitfield bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lee is breathing heavily.

Whitfield wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lee, who protects the arm well.
Lee seems a little lost for a moment, as Whitfield dominates the positioning.
Whitfield seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lee for as long as he can get away with.

Whitfield is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Whitfield decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Whitfield jumps guard and drags Lee to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Whitfield.
Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Whitfield goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Whitfield throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilton Whitfield dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Lee throws a combination that misses
and Whitfield counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Wilton Whitfield is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Whitfield slaps away a takedown attempt from Lee, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lee takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lee misses with a takedown attempt
and Whitfield counters with a head kick.

Lee tries to improve position but can't.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.

Whitfield is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lee has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Whitfield is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Whitfield trying to control the position but Lee is working away.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lee takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Whitfield wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Whitfield tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it.
Whitfield fails with an attempt to clinch.
Whitfield moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.

Lee darts in and clinches Whitfield up against the cage.
Whitfield lands a nice elbow.
Lee goes for a takedown in the clinch but Whitfield prevents it.
Wilton Whitfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Lee.

Whitfield has his hands on Lee's head, controlling the position.
Lee trying to control but Whitfield is working from the bottom.

Whitfield manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

Whitfield is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wilton Whitfield overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Whitfield's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well Whitfield has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
