PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lin's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Remember The Name. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeremy Lin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Donald Frank!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lin throws a leg kick that misses.
Frank shoots in looking for a takedown. Lin tries to sprawl out of it but Frank keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Lin tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Frank goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lin throws a solid leg kick but Frank takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lin.
Lin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lin tries a low kick but Frank avoids it.
Lin swings for the body but Frank moves out of range.
Frank walks into a straight right hand from Lin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frank tries to clinch but Lin is having none of it.
Frank tries to close the distance and clinch but Lin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Frank tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lin is able to avoid easily.
Frank fails to land the takedown.
Lin lands a nice hook to Frank's body. Frank takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Lin throws a good cross that connects.
Frank is looking to clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Lin. That snapped Frank's head back.

Frank instigates a clinch.

Frank drags the fight down to the ground.

Lin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Frank has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lin has managed to get both his arms back between Frank's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frank tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Frank closes the distance and pushes Lin back into the cage.

Frank breaks from the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Frank is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lin to keep the fight standing.
Lin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A frustrated look appears on Lin's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Frank looks to throw the jab but Lin is out of range.

Frank rushes Lin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lin blocks an elbow strike.
Frank lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Frank tries to pull guard but Lin won't allow it.
Lin is trying to push Frank away but Frank has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Frank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Frank closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lin circles away.

Lin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Frank keeps control of Lin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Frank manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Frank changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Frank has closed the distance and engaged Lin in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Lin's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Frank's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Frank shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Frank dives in and grabs Lin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lin pushes down on Frank's head and hops out.
Frank digs a good body shot into Lin's ribs.

A lazy left from Lin finds it's target.
Frank tries to clinch up but Lin circles away and keeps his distance.

Lin throws a lazy right hand but Frank sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Frank shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lin pinned against the cage. Lin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Frank ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lin moves away.
Lin scores with a jab. Frank acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Frank clinches up against the cage.
Frank is trying to pull guard but Lin turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Frank jumps guard but Lin stands there with Frank around his waist. Frank gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Frank pushes Lin up against the cage in a clinch.

Frank escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Frank might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Lin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Frank is looking to stand up but Lin isn't so interested in that idea.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Frank.
Lin catches Frank with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Donald Frank has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lin moves out of range of the body kick.

Jeremy Lin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
