The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Toure shoots in and gets a takedown into Dace's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Toure controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Toure passes into half guard.
Toure sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Dace is trying to get back to full guard.

Toure decides to stand and escape the position.
Chike Toure seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toure fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dace sprawls well initially but Toure persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Toure fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Dace parries the strikes from Toure easily there. Toure is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dace to escape.
Dace is trying to improve his position.

Toure is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dace has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dace tries to buck Toure off but Toure is having none of it.

Dace is letting Toure control him for a moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Toure has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dace!

Toure takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Toure is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Toure trying to control but Dace is having none of it.
Toure lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Dace tries to buck Toure off but Toure takes his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Toure looking to break Dace's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Dace remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Toure will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Dace is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Toure has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Toure closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dace quickly recovers to half guard.

Dace is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Toure pulls his head out easily.

Toure stands up and beckons Dace to join him on the feet.
Toure shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dace sprawls well. Dace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Toure gets slowly back to his feet.

Toure takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Toure tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dace paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Toure shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dace but Dace pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dace lands with a slapping head kick.
Toure tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Toure shoots for a double leg takedown but Dace sprawls well. He's pushed Toure's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Don Dace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chike Toure.

Toure stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Dace has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Toure manages to get his head free but now Dace has transitioned to an armbar! Toure grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Dace! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
