Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Prince Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noel Rigel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noel Rigel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Prince Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Noel Rigel!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rigel throws a right and a left that Kelly avoids nicely.
Rigel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kelly manages to avoid it.
No joy there for Rigel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rigel throws a good cross that connects.
Rigel works the jab nicely.
Rigel blocks a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rigel is looking to slow Kelly down with leg kicks.
Rigel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kelly moves away.
Rigel tests Kelly's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Rigel misses with an uppercut
and Kelly counters with a stiff right hand.
Kelly really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kelly looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Kelly stands and steps away. Rigel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kelly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rigel sprawls well initially but Kelly persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kelly content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Rigel pushes Kelly off looking to stand but Kelly dives back in and keeps control.
Kelly thows a huge punch but Rigel dodges it nicely.

Kelly will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kelly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rigel keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kelly is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rigel is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ground and pound from Kelly.
Kelly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kelly is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rigel is just riding it out for now. Kelly eventually gives up the hold.

Kelly throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rigel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kelly stands up and waves to Rigel to follow him.
Rigel misses with a head kick.

Kelly connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Kelly looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rigel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nice takedown defense from Rigel. No joy for Kelly on that attempt.
Kelly throws a lazy uppercut
and Rigel counters with a good low kick that Kelly was not able to check.
Rigel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kelly avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kelly bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Noel Rigel seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rigel throws a body shot but no joy.
A left lands for Rigel.
Noel Rigel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kelly gets a takedown into half guard.

Kelly wants to work for an arm triangle but Rigel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kelly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rigel can do to turn this around?

Kelly has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rigel is trying to stand up here but Kelly is controlling him well.

Kelly is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rigel defends it well.

Rigel is defending against the submission attempts here by Kelly.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kelly thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kelly prevents Rigel from improving his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rigel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kelly has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kelly and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prince Kelly dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kelly on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rigel. Rigel obviously looking to wear him down.
Kelly fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Noel Rigel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rigel tries a low kick but Kelly avoids it.

so Kelly counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rigel is looking to stand up but Kelly isn't so interested in that idea.

Kelly postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rigel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kelly, into his guard.

Kelly is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Kelly looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rigel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kelly has his hands on Rigel's head, controlling the position.
Kelly is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rigel stopping the sweep attempt from Kelly.
Kelly keeping moving, preventing Rigel from controlling successfully.
Kelly bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rigel's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kelly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kelly throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kelly throws an elbow that misses. Rigel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kelly's guard. Nice move by Rigel!

Kelly is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kelly seems to be working for a kimura but Rigel defends the submission attempt.

Kelly is looking for a kimura but Rigel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kelly to get the leverage.
Noel Rigel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kelly not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rigel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kelly is working away from the top position though.
Prince Kelly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kelly is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Prince Kelly.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kelly, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
