The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todd with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sloan shoots for a takedown but Todd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Todd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sloan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Todd seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sloan for as long as he can get away with.
Sloan tries to improve position but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Todd is looking to take a break and control but Sloan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Davis Sloan has been cut.
