Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Wonka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wonka is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mr Rotten Treats - Insane Clown Posse. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willy Wonka!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez cracks Wonka with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Wonka misses with a looping right.

Wonka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sanchez misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Wonka is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sanchez misses with the head strike.

Wonka jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sanchez walks away with a smile on his face. Wonka gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wonka is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wonka takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Sanchez tries to land a front kick but Wonka steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sanchez misses with a kick to the body.

Wonka closes the distance and clinches.
Wonka is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wonka tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sanchez's elbow.
Sanchez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wonka up against the cage.

Wonka has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sanchez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We've been told by Sanchez's head coaches at The Barracks - LOD that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wonka moves out of range as Sanchez throws a body kick.
Sanchez thows a body kick. Wonka tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Wonka throws a hook but Sanchez avoids it easily.
Sanchez swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
No luck for Wonka with that takedown attempt.
Wonka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sanchez.

It looks like Willy Wonka has been cut.
Sanchez digs a good hook to Wonka's body.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sanchez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wonka.

Sanchez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wonka can do to turn this around?

Horrible takedown attempt by Wonka or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez, which made it look bad.
Wonka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanchez circles away quickly and effectively.

Wonka ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Sanchez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Wonka changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sanchez is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Sanchez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wonka doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wonka in particular looking to stall.

Wonka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sanchez's head.

Wonka throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

My spies in LOD: Gym of the Gods inform me that Wonka has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That was a close second round but I would say that Diego Sanchez will probably get the nod.

Wonka tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sanchez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

I would just about give that final round to Willy Wonka.
