PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erik Veloso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rasan gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veloso comes to the cage accompanied by Bonde da Oskley - Cachorrinho. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Veloso looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
gracie working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
gracie advances position into side control!
Veloso taking punishment in the form of punches.
gracie lands some shots froms side control.
Veloso takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

gracie decides to stand back up.
Veloso keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from gracie.

gracie shoots in and bounces Veloso off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Veloso will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
gracie pushing down on Veloso's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Veloso with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

gracie working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Veloso turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips gracie off and cradles Veloso's limp body as gracie celebrates with his corner.
