Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Mccarthy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Out Shadow!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Mccarthy or perhaps it was just good defense by Shadow, which made it look bad.
Mccarthy shoots in looking for a takedown. Shadow tries to sprawl out of it but Mccarthy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shadow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shadow is looking to clinch.
Shadow closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Shadow tightens his grip and picks Mccarthy up, before dumping him to the ground. Mccarthy manages to land in guard.
Mccarthy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Shadow throwing strikes but missing.
Shadow is in close to Mccarthy's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shadow working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shadow lands a couple of digs.
It looks like Hugo Mccarthy has been cut.
Shadow makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hugo Mccarthy's cut is getting worse.
Shadow arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Mccarthy's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Out Shadow!
