Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deiter Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deiter Myers!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No luck for Myers with that takedown attempt.

Myers rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.

Myers breaks the clinch.
Jones stuffs the takedown.

Myers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Myers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Myers lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.
Myers advances nicely into full mount.
Jones tries to hold on but Myers postures up.
Jones is desperately trying to improve his position but Myers has a good base and remains in mount.
Myers avoids the attempt from Jones to control.

Myers jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jones is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jones and Myers has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Myers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jones, who protects the arm well.

Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Myers is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones manages to get back to half guard.
Myers prevents Jones from improving his position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Myers pushes his legs off easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Myers tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Myers passes Jones's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Myers with the ground and pound but Jones uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Jones is controlling Myers's posture.
Myers throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Myers trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Myers working a defensive guard but Jones manages to pass into side control anyway.
Myers is looking for a sweep.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Myers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Myers has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.

Myers is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Jones will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Myers tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jones jumps guard but Myers stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Myers is working for takedown but Jones is calmly controlling the position for now.
Myers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Marcus Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deiter Myers.
Jones avoids the elbow strike from Myers, against the cage.
Myers comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Jones breaks the clinch.

Jones clinches with his opponent.
Myers throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Jones lands an elbow that stopped Myers in his tracks for a moment.
Myers has a couple of punches blocked by Jones.

Myers turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Myers manages to end up in side control.
Myers is breathing heavily.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Myers is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Myers's guard.

Marcus Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Myers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.

Myers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well.

Myers swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jones is now in Myers's guard. A big mistake from Myers there, giving up the dominant position!

Myers will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Myers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Jones darts in and clinches Myers up against the cage.

Myers pulls Jones into guard.

Myers throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jones escapes and throws Myers's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Myers is looking for a sweep.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Myers is not content to let Jones control the position.
Myers regains half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Myers wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Myers punching from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Myers's temple.
Jones is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jones blocks Myers's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Myers is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.
Myers is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Myers tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Myers gets full guard.
Myers throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Myers trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Jones wants to control from the top but Myers keeps moving.
Myers looking for a sweep. Not yet Myers, not yet.
Myers lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!

Myers goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.

Myers wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Myers is on top in guard.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Myers is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
Myers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Myers throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Myers is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!
Marcus Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones manages to reverse the position and now he's in Myers's guard. Nice work there by Jones.
Myers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Deiter Myers.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
