PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clint Eastwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacinto Koutras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Eastwood might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smokie - Living Next Door To Alice. Jacinto Koutras is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eastwood connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Jacinto Koutras has been cut.
Koutras has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Eastwood finds it's way round the side to connect with Koutras's head.
No luck for Koutras with that takedown attempt.
Eastwood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Eastwood sets himself, and Koutras steps forward looking for the clinch! Eastwood avoids it this time.
Koutras shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Eastwood as he avoids it easily.
Eastwood tries to break free but Koutras pushes him back against the cage.
Koutras tries for a takedown but Eastwood manages to get underhooks.
Clint Eastwood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacinto Koutras.
Koutras drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Eastwood gets the underhooks and prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eastwood misses with a body punch.

Koutras prevents a body shot from Eastwood.
Koutras drops down looking for an ankle pick but Eastwood pulls his leg out and moves away.

Koutras throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Eastwood was covering up waiting for the punch and Koutras finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Koutras throws a big right hand that misses.
Eastwood has his hands on Koutras's head, controlling the position.
Eastwood has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Koutras throws an elbow that misses. Eastwood uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Koutras's guard. Nice move by Eastwood!

Koutras looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Koutras being controlled here, momentarily.
Eastwood's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Eastwood will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Koutras tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Eastwood slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Koutras can do anything to dispel that myth.
Eastwood has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Eastwood throws a hook but Koutras avoids it easily.
Eastwood jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Eastwood misses with a double jab.
Eastwood looks to land a right hand but Koutras moved out of range.
Koutras now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Eastwood misses with a jab, cross combination.
Koutras moves forwards but Eastwood connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That has opened up Jacinto Koutras's cut even more.
Eastwood throws a nice looking combination but Koutras bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Eastwood keeps the fight on the outside.
Eastwood misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koutras.
Koutras tries to score a power double leg takedown but Eastwood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Koutras somewhat.
Eastwood was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eastwood misses with a straight left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Eastwood misses the jab.
Eastwood cracks Koutras with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Eastwood looks to score with a jab to the body but Koutras is just out of range.
Koutras fails in his attempt to clinch.
Eastwood swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Eastwood scores with a crisp jab that stopped Koutras in his tracks.

Koutras scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Eastwood tries to bench press Koutras off him but Koutras keeps the position.

Eastwood is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Eastwood tries to roll over but Koutras keeps him under control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Koutras trying to work for an americana but Eastwood has managed to regain full guard.
Eastwood is pulling down on Koutras's head. It's preventing any offense from Koutras, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Eastwood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Koutras wants to control from the top but Eastwood keeps moving.

Eastwood clobbers Koutras with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Eastwood dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Eastwood tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koutras was well out of range. Poor timing from Eastwood.
Koutras throws out a counter right but Eastwood avoids it with no problem.
Eastwood moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

The cut above Jacinto Koutras's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Eastwood lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Eastwood connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Jacinto Koutras's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Koutras is looking to clinch but Eastwood is avoiding it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jacinto Koutras's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
