Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fabrici Gorfal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Fabrici Gorfal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Rodrigo Silva !
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gorfal moves into the clinch.
Gorfal blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Silva has picked Gorfal up - he's going for a ride! Silva dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gorfal is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Team Tussle that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Gorfal tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.

Gorfal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, if Silva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Silva is keen to just control but Gorfal is a slippery customer.
Gorfal is trying to control but can't.
Gorfal is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Silva lands with an uppercut that bounces Gorfal off the cage and back into range.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silva jabs at Gorfal's body.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silva throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Gorfal back into the cage.
Gorfal looking to stall.

Gorfal successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gorfal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gorfal is trying to keep Silva in close.

Gorfal is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Gorfal is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Silva trying to move into half guard but instead Gorfal has managed to sweep!

Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Silva tries to strike from the bottom.

Gorfal wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silva passes Gorfal's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo Silva dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gorfal tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gorfal pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gorfal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Gorfal leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gorfal tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Silva manages to circle out of the way.
Silva missing with a left hand there. Gorfal was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Silva shoots in for a takedown but Gorfal shows good takedown defense.

Silva misses with an elbow over the top.
With the fighters up against the cage, Silva throws an elbow but misses.
A nice left hand lands by Silva .

Gorfal has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silva clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva trying to control the hands but Gorfal won't let him.

Gorfal misses with punches from the back.
Gorfal slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gorfal tries to get the hooks in deep but Silva pushed the leg off.
Gorfal controlling the position well here. Silva rolled but Gorfal kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.

Gorfal is not going to allow Silva to sit and survive in this position.

Silva rolls, trying to escape but Gorfal keeps control of the position.

Silva is trying to get back to his feet but Gorfal has full control of the position and if anything, Silva has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Silva covering up well under a series of strikes from Gorfal.

That's time! Gorfal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Gorfal looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Gorfal is just out of range.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Gorfal back into the cage.
Gorfal is pushing Silva up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Silva misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Silva manages to pull guard.
Gorfal throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely.

Gorfal tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Gorfal advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Silva wants to control but Gorfal is keeping busy.
Gorfal is looking to stall here but Silva recovers full guard.
Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gorfal's guard.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gorfal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Gorfal's legs - danger averted.

Gorfal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gorfal misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Gorfal lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Silva blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gorfal.

Silva manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gorfal keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Silva manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Silva . No joy for Gorfal on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabrici Gorfal. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva clinches up with Gorfal and pushes him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rodrigo Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
