The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wooten Jr shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wooten Jr was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wooten Jr is looking to take a break and control but Conte is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wooten Jr tries to advance to mount but Conte denies him.
Conte is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wooten Jr is controlling him well.
Wooten Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Conte. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Conte had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wooten Jr defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Wooten Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
