Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sven Jergensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Legend Zatoichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zatoichi has chosen Sixty Seconds To ..... as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The Legend Zatoichi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sven Jergensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Legend Zatoichi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zatoichi jabbing away but nothing is landing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've been hearing reports that Jergensen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Jergensen has Zatoichi pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jergensen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jergensen avoiding damage as Zatoichi throws knees to the body.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Zatoichi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jergensen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jergensen in particular looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The Legend Zatoichi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Zatoichi throws out a loose jab but Jergensen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jergensen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zatoichi.

That was a close round but I would say that Sven Jergensen will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Zatoichi leaves Jergensen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jergensen shoots in but Zatoichi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Jergensen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jergensen tries for a takedown but Zatoichi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jergensen dives in and grabs Zatoichi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zatoichi pushes down on Jergensen's head and hops out.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Jergensen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zatoichi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zatoichi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zatoichi misses with a few strikes there.
The Legend Zatoichi seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The Legend Zatoichi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The Legend Zatoichi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Zatoichi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
