Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maro Brito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Petzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Petzel will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maro Brito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Petzel!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petzel lands a nice leg kick that just misses Brito's sensitive parts.
Brito throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Petzel moves into the clinch successfully.

Brito misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Horrible takedown by Brito or perhaps it was just good defense by Petzel which made him look bad.
Good leg kick by Petzel there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Petzel moves into range and clinches up with Brito.
Brito wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maro Brito. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Petzel gets underhooks to prevent Brito's takedown attempt.

Petzel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Petzel throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

and Petzel counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Brito thinking.

Petzel lets loose with a powerful body kick. Brito will feel that in the morning.

Petzel gets the takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Petzel decides to stand back up.

Petzel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Petzel lands a glancing blow to the side of Brito's head.
Petzel bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Petzel punishes Brito's body with a nice straight punch.

Brito gets caught flat footed, as Petzel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Petzel tries to free his leg and advance position but Brito is retaining full guard.
Petzel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Petzel chips away with some ground and pound.

Petzel gets to his feet - Brito follows without any prompting.
Petzel with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Petzel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Brito might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brito is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Petzel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Petzel is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Brito will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Petzel goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Petzel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brito's guard.
Petzel is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Petzel gets to his feet - Brito follows without any prompting.
Brito takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Petzel lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Petzel drives through and clinches with Brito against the cage.

Petzel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Brito wants to get back to full guard but Petzel has passed into side control.

Petzel has control of Brito's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brito regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Alexander Petzel has got the better of the ground game so far.

Petzel stands up from mount. Strange move.

Petzel shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Petzel escapes and gets back to his feet.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Petzel.
Brito throws a sloppy head kick

and Petzel counters with a takedown into side control.

Petzel decides to stand back up. Petzel steps back and let's Brito get back to his feet.
Petzel is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Petzel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Petzel lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brito has his foot on Petzel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Petzel works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Petzel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Petzel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Petzel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Brito chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Petzel can pounce on him.

Brito takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Petzel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Petzel is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Maro Brito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petzel throws a leg kick which misses Brito's front leg but catches the back leg as Brito tries to avoid it.
Petzel lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Brito looks to clinch
and Petzel counters with a three punch combo that has Brito backing up. Brito nods at Petzel to acknowledge the strikes.
Petzel throws a head kick that Brito semi-blocks.
Maro Brito is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Petzel lands a front kick.

Petzel has taken the fight to the clinch.
Brito wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Petzel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Petzel lands a jab to the head.
Petzel ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Petzel closes the distance and clinches.

and Petzel counters with a left and a right that stings Brito.
Petzel plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Petzel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brito's guard.
Petzel is stalling in the full guard.

Brito working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Petzel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Petzel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Petzel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Alexander Petzel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Petzel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
