Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ali Mouba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, The Avengers Avenge!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avenge shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mouba as he avoids it easily.
Mouba tests Avenge's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Avenge darts in looking for a takedown but Mouba gets double underhooks and turns Avenge into the cage.
Mouba's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Avenge shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ali Mouba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Avengers Avenge.
Avenge steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mouba. That one must have hurt.
Avenge looks winded!
Nice shot by Mouba.
Mouba lands a slapping body shot.
Mouba feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Avenges jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mouba connects with an inside leg kick.
Mouba sizes up Avenge with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Mouba clobbers Avenge with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mouba connects with a right hand. Avenge shakes it off.
Avenge fails with a takedown attempt.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mouba, as that shot connected.
Mouba lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Avenge backs up against the cage.
It looks like The Avengers Avenge has been cut.
Mouba fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mouba cracks the inside of Avenge's front leg.
Mouba is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Mouba connects with a good right hand that stumbles Avenge. Avenge circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mouba.
Mouba comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mouba connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mouba darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Nice uppercut there from Mouba.
Avenge takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mouba scores with a sloppy right hand. Avenge should have avoided that one.
Mouba lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Avenge at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Avenge fails with the takedown
and Avenge takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mouba swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Avenge.
Mouba looks to land a combination. Avenge sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nice takedown defense from Mouba. No joy for Avenge on that attempt.
Ali Mouba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mouba stalks Avenge and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Avenge's face. Avenge staggers backwards, shaken.
Avenge is rocked!
A jab from Mouba finds it's way through Avenge's defenses.
Avenge is still on wobbly legs! Can Mouba finish him?
Mouba lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Avenge up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Mouba from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Avenge's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ali Mouba!
