PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Don Boyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Osbourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Boyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johan Osbourne!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osbourne avoids a kick to the body.
Boyer shoots for a takedown but Osbourne saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Osbourne fails with the takedown.
Johan Osbourne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyer throws a head kick that misses.
Boyer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Osbourne.
Osbourne throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boyer's waist but Boyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Osbourne off to one side.
Don Boyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Osbourne.

Osbourne is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyer dives in for a single leg takedown but Osbourne sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Boyer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Osbourne drops down looking for an ankle pick but Boyer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Osbourne shoots in looking for a takedown. Boyer tries to sprawl out of it but Osbourne keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boyer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Osbourne tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boyer swivels and escapes.
Osbourne throws a head kick that misses.

Osbourne has taken the fight to the clinch.
Boyer is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Boyer tries to pull guard but Osbourne holds him up against the cage and eventually Boyer drops back down to his feet.
Osbourne drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Osbourne jumps guard but Boyer turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Boyer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Boyer breaks the clinch.

Boyer drives through and clinches with Osbourne against the cage.
Boyer is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Osbourne pulls Boyer into guard.
Boyer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Boyer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Osbourne looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Boyer lands a couple of elbows.
Boyer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Boyer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Boyer really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Boyer is looking to work some ground and pound but Osbourne has wrist control.

Osbourne is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boyer defends well.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Boyer stands up over Osbourne, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Osbourne controls Boyer momentarily but Boyer frees himself.
Osbourne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Osbourne tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boyer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Osbourne somewhat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Don Boyer will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Osbourne throws a nice looking combination but Boyer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Boyer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boyer wants it to stay on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boyer wants to clinch up but Osbourne keeps it at a distance.

Osbourne shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boyer pinned against the cage. Boyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Boyer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Osbourne has Boyer pressed against the cage, preventing Boyer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Osbourne is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Boyer is keeping busy.
Boyer tries to break free but Osbourne pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Osbourne postures up in Boyer's guard and throws a big left but Boyer blocks it.
Boyer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Osbourne throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Boyer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Osbourne is aware though and is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Osbourne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Osbourne trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

I would just about give that final round to Johan Osbourne.
I think Boyer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
