Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, El Ka Bong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carrera Villamora!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villamora avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Villamora swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bong.
Bong looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bong jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bong takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
A decent looking cross lands there for Villamora.


It looks like El Ka Bong has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Villamora drops his shoulder and cracks Bong with a huge uppercut! Bong goes down! Can Villamora finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Villamora sitting in guard here, content to control.
Villamora must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Villamora is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bong wants to sweep but no luck.
Villamora trying to control but Bong is working from the bottom.
Villamora connects with a couple of short punches.
Bong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Villamora is controlling Bong's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Bong is trying to work for a kimura but Villamora is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Villamora is just riding it out for now. Bong eventually gives up the hold.
Villamora is refusing to be controlled, as Bong sits in half guard.

Bong is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Villamora has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Villamora wants to control the action here but instead Bong manages to pass to full mount!
Bong prevents Villamora from getting the reversal.

Bong jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Villamora is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Villamora and Bong has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Villamora can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villamora is trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bong postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bong misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Bong tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bong tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bong trying to control the position but Villamora is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carrera Villamora dominated that round.
The cut man is working on El Ka Bong's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Villamora ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Carrera Villamora seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Villamora scores with a head kick. Bong tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Villamora knocks Bong out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Carrera Villamora!
