Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caesar comes to the cage accompanied by How do you gauge Caesar?. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gaius Julius Caesar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jordan James!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James fails to land the takedown.
Caesar swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
James has his takedown stuffed

and Caesar counters with a takedown into side control.
James taking a bit of punishment here - Caesar scoring with strikes.
James tries to buck Caesar off but Caesar is having none of it.
James seems a little lost for a moment, as Caesar dominates the positioning.
Caesar working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
James is trying to get back to full guard.

James keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Well, if Caesar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Caesar perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
James is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Caesar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed James's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Caesar slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gaius Julius Caesar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan James.
Caesar stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet.
James tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Caesar defends well and James ends up having to push Caesar into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Caesar wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Caesar shoots in and bounces James off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

James wants to sweep but no luck.
Caesar stays in close to James's body and controls the position.

James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Caesar controls the pace.

Caesar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Caesar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

James has his hands on Caesar's head, controlling the position.

Caesar wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caesar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in James's guard.

Caesar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.
James wants to stand and escape but Caesar is having none of it.

James is trying to control the position but Caesar postures up.
Caesar is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
James seems keen to control Caesar's posture.

Caesar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that James can do to turn this around?

James shoots in and drives through. Caesar sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Caesar.
James shapes to counter with a head kick.

Caesar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching James on his heels. He'll look to pass James's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caesar throws an elbow that misses. James uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Caesar's guard. Nice move by James!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells James's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Caesar is trying to control the position but James postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Caesar is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Caesar tries to pass to full mount but James defends it.

Caesar is pressing down on James's thigh, looking to free his foot. James is holding on for now.

James is trying to maintain the position but Caesar is very close to passing his half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

James gets tackled into the cage by Caesar. Caesar maintains the clinch.
James drops down looking for an ankle pick but Caesar pulls his leg out and moves away.
Caesar fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Caesar has hold of one of James's legs. James is fighting the takedown attempt but Caesar gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

James looking to hit a scissor sweep but Caesar is one step ahead there.

Caesar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well Caesar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
