PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drakus Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanderson comes to the cage accompanied by If It Bleeds We Can Kill It. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Sanderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drakus Sin!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sanderson tries to avoid it but Sin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sanderson to the ground. Sanderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sanderson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sin.
Sanderson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sin prevents it.
Sanderson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sin just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Sanderson is trying to hold Sin in close to prevent damage but Sin has managed to pass into half guard.
Sanderson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sin wants to pass to mount but Sanderson is defending the position.
Sin is looking to take a break and control but Sanderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sanderson is trying to get back to full guard.

Sanderson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Sin pulls his head out easily.
Sanderson is looking for a sweep. Sin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sin wants to control but Sanderson is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Sin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sanderson is looking for a sweep. Sin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sin wants to control but Sanderson is keeping him busy.
Sanderson tries to roll over but Sin keeps him under control.
Sanderson is working hard here to advance position.
Sin slows the pace down in half guard.
Sin looks gassed!

Sanderson is looking to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Sin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sanderson's guard.
Sanderson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sanderson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sanderson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sin escapes and throws Sanderson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sanderson wants to control but Sin postures up.

Sanderson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sanderson manages to get back to half guard.
Sanderson wants to improve his position but Sin is controlling well.
Sanderson moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drakus Sin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sanderson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sanderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sanderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sin's back instead.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sanderson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sin for a finish.

Sanderson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sin has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Sanderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Sanderson is looking to improve his position but Sin isn't that keen on the idea.
Sin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Sanderson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sanderson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sin!

Sin has given up his back. Will we see Sanderson going for some submissions?

Sin just trying to survive but Sanderson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Sanderson goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Sin escapes and is now in half guard on top.

Sanderson has his foot on Sin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sin works his way back into a safe position though.
Sanderson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sin's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sin is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ryan Sanderson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Sanderson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
