Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jie Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Chabala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liu's entrance music is The Cinematic Orchestra ft. Roots Manuva - All Things To All Men. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liu checks the leg kick nicely there.
Liu throws the kick towards the body but Chabala avoids it.
Liu takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Chabala throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Liu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Chabala's calf.
Chabala lands with a good body shot.
Chabala darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Chabala throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Liu's coaches at Spetznaz Training Center have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Chabala cracks Liu with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Chabala tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Chabala throws a right and a left that both miss.

Chabala fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Liu.
Chabala drops his hands momentarily and Liu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A clash of legs there as Chabala blocks the low kick.
Chabala moves forwards but Liu connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Chabala clobbers Liu with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Matt Chabala seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Liu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Liu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Chabala's calf.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chabala shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Liu as he avoids it easily.
Liu swings for the body but Chabala moves out of range.
Chabala fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Liu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Chabala tries to work over Liu's front leg with a kick but Liu checks it.
Chabala throws the kick towards the body but Liu avoids it.
Chabala misses the shot to the body.
Chabala lands a leg kick that knocks Liu off balance momentarily.
Liu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jie Liu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Chabala.
Liu throws out a leg kick but Chabala moves out of range and Liu only half commits.
Matt Chabala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Matt Chabala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Chabala drops back, looking for a kneebar! Liu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Liu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Liu!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Matt Chabala has got the better of the ground game so far.

I would just about give that final round to Matt Chabala.
Well Chabala has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
