Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reynaldo Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Mohammed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reynaldo Koch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Mohammed!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mohammed gets the takedown into side control.
Mohammed tries to advance to mount but Koch denies him.
Mohammed postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mohammed passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Koch!
Mohammed avoids the attempt from Koch to control.
Mohammed misses with a head shot.
Koch really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mohammed swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Koch is now in Mohammed's guard. A big mistake from Mohammed there, giving up the dominant position!

Mohammed utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Koch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mohammed has control of Koch's left arm, preventing Koch from doing any damage.

Koch drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mohammed manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Koch has Mohammed in his guard.

Mohammed stands up from Koch's guard - Mohammed perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mohammed looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Koch!

Mohammed stands up and beckons Koch to his feet.

Mohammed closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mohammed misses with the ground and pound.
Koch tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mohammed presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Koch manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Mohammed wants to work for an arm triangle but Koch is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mohammed is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Mohammed stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mohammed is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Koch throws a leg kick but Mohammed sees it coming and moves out of range.

Mohammed gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mohammed takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Mohammed tries to break free but Koch pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mohammed connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Koch momentarily.


It looks like Reynaldo Koch has been cut.
Mohammed throws a push kick but Koch slaps the foot to one side.

Mohammed closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mohammed is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Koch will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Oh Koch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Koch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mohammed feints and as Koch raises his hands in defense, Mohammed changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Koch gets caught napping as Mohammed dives in and scores a takedown. Koch manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mohammed slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mohammed gets to his feet. Koch looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mohammed works Koch's body with a nice hook.

Mohammed manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Koch on his heels. He'll look to pass Koch's guard now, I'm sure.

Mohammed tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Koch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mohammed gets control of Koch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mohammed will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well Mohammed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
