The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mcsmashenstein is looking to land body kicks.
Bolson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Bolson shoots in and bounces Mcsmashenstein off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bolson is breathing heavily.
Mcsmashenstein tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mcsmashenstein had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bolson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mcsmashenstein Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bolson's back instead.

Mcsmashenstein is punishing Bolson with strikes - can he finish him?!

It looks like Jack Bolson has been cut.

Mcsmashenstein is trying to stick to Bolson's back but Bolson is turning into Mcsmashenstein. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mcsmashenstein's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bolson.

Mcsmashenstein is looking to sweep but instead, Bolson has passed into half guard.

Mcsmashenstein kicks off Bolson and gets to his feet.
Mcsmashenstein feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bolson sprawling to the canvas! Bolson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mcsmashenstein finish him?!

Bolson is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bolson walks straight into a right hand from Mcsmashenstein - that's dropped him! Mcsmashenstein jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bolson from any more punishment! Bolson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
