Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yes Yes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Da Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yes Yes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Da Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Yes enables Da Rocha to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Da Rocha in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Da Rocha tries to free his leg and advance position but Yes is retaining full guard.

Da Rocha drops back looking for a leg! Yes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yes manages to kick Da Rocha off! Da Rocha jumps back into Yes's guard.
Da Rocha wants to pass the guard but Yes is keeping the position.

Da Rocha drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yes dives on top into guard.


Da Rocha working for a triangle but Yes defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Da Rocha's head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Da Rocha is on top in guard.


Da Rocha drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Da Rocha jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Da Rocha drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Da Rocha has Yes in his guard.

Da Rocha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yes's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Da Rocha is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Yes is aware though and is defending well.
Yes postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Da Rocha is working an open guard so Yes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Da Rocha tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yes throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Yes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Da Rocha shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yes sprawls well. Yes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Da Rocha gets slowly back to his feet.
Yes avoids the head kick by Da Rocha.
Da Rocha tries for a takedown but Yes circles away easily
and Yes counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Yes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Da Rocha but Da Rocha pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Yes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yes wants it to stay on the feet.
Yes Yes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Da Rocha.
Da Rocha takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Da Rocha shoots in and drives through. Yes sprawls well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yes wants to stand but Da Rocha is controlling his posture from full guard.

Da Rocha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That was a close round but I would say that Yes Yes will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Da Rocha fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yes avoids it really well and circles away.

Yes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Yes moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Da Rocha.

Yes decides to stand back up. Yes steps back and let's Da Rocha get back to his feet.

Da Rocha shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Da Rocha is trying to work for a kimura but Yes is defending well.
Yes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yes.

Da Rocha tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yes defends well and Da Rocha ends up having to push Yes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Da Rocha postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Da Rocha, into his guard.


Yes stands up from Da Rocha's guard - Yes perhaps looking for a knockout.

Da Rocha fails to land the takedown.
Yes moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Yes Yes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Yes clinches up with Da Rocha and pushes him back against the cage.

Da Rocha works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Yes managing to control the position.

Da Rocha drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yes dives on top into guard.

Yes distracts Da Rocha with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Da Rocha looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Yes has picked Da Rocha up and slammed him! Da Rocha can't keep hold of the triangle and Yes manages to pass to side control!
Yes takes a little break here. Da Rocha wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Da Rocha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Yes Yes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Da Rocha is trying to control Yes's posture but Yes avoids it.
Da Rocha is looking for a sweep.
Da Rocha seems a little lost for a moment, as Yes dominates the positioning.
