Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damian Babinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Theron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Babinski comes to the cage accompanied by Bad. Damian Babinski had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Damian Babinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Charlie Theron!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Theron lands with a right hand.
A good leg kick by Babinski.
Babinski missing with a left hand there. Theron was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Theron connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Babinski momentarily.
Babinski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Babinski tried to score with a low kick but Theron checks it.
Theron darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Theron closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Theron is working for a submission of some sort.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Theron connects with a nice short shot to Babinski's temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Theron thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Babinski is looking to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Babinski pushes Theron off but Theron dives into side control.
Theron lands an elbow.
Babinski on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Babinski tries to get out of the position.
Theron scores with a couple of short elbows.
Babinski is working to avoid the ground and pound but Theron connects with a decent elbow.

Theron thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Babinski pushes Theron away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Theron gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Theron has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Theron is looking to take a break and control but Babinski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from Babinski's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Babinski is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Babinski is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Babinski gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

BOOM! Theron connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Theron with shots to the head and body - Babinski looks very uncomfortable down there.


Babinski is rocked!
Babinski is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Oh Babinski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Babinski seems to have got his legs back now.

Theron landing strikes, looking to finish!
Theron looking to control but Babinski is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Theron connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Theron sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Theron loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Babinski scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Theron land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Theron stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie Theron!
