Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez's entrance music is Snoop Dogg (ft Dr.Dre) The Chronic. A fine choice. Snow has chosen winters coming as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Rodriguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snow!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rodriguez on the side of the head.
Rodriguez scores with a sloppy right hand. Snow should have avoided that one.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rodriguez is defended easily by Snow.

Snow drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snow throwing strikes from guard but Rodriguez blocks nicely.
Snow wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snow misses the jab.

Snow closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rodriguez quickly recovers to half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Snow connects with a nice short shot to Rodriguez's temple.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Snow. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Snow is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rodriguez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Snow dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Snow misses with a few strikes there.
Snow misses with a jab, cross combination.
Snow stuffs the takedown.
Rodriguez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Snow connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rodriguez's hands.
Snow swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez throws an overhand right that lands on Snow's shoulder, as Snow tries to avoid the shot.
Snow looks to land a combination but Rodriguez avoids it well.
Rodriguez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snow lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Rodriguez moves out of range of the strikes.
Snow fakes the leg kick and cracks Rodriguez in the body.
Rodriguez shoots in looking for a takedown but Snow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodriguez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Snow shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Snow was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Snow cracks Rodriguez with a big right hand but Rodriguez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Snow works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
You can see the frustration on Rodriguez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Snow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodriguez keeps working.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Snow working his ground and pound in the gym.
Snow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Snow tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snow has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snow accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jon Snow is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jon Snow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Snow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
